About

About the Blog:

This blog is devoted to 3 things:

The Engineer Profession of Guild Wars 2 – I will provide the latest guides and theory crafting for the Engineer Profession from both my own craftings and those found around the community of Guild Wars 2.  Complete and detailed skill lists with explanations about each skill, how they work, and best ways to use them.  From PvP to PvE, The Feral Engineer will be your top source to anything Engineer.

Guild Wars 2 Systems – Arena Net is doing a lot of things differently with this game, from the guild system to how they approach PvP to their own proprietary music player found inside the game!  As the game develops further and more systems are revealed, this blog will analyze them and explain them in a clear and understandable way.

Game Development Theories – No doubt that each of you readers are gamers and there are plenty of theories when it comes down to game development.  Because of that, I will give my own opinion on things like the Holy Trinity System and the reasons why Grinds are a terrible idea.

There will be a blog post every Tuesday and other posts throughout the week based on importance such at hot fixes.

About Feral:

Husband, Audio Engineer and Gamer.  As the logo says, Audio Engineer by day and Charr Engineer by night.  I recently became a rampant tweeter and I am a writer of sorts, but that just depends on what your definition of writer is (I swear, if you say bloggers are not writers but fan fiction authors are, I will not take you seriously).  I currently live in Arizona with the hopes of being a sound designer for Arena Net.  I graduated from college with a degree in English with a focus on Epic Poetry and I love the essay.  I apologize in advance about the length of my writings but 4 years at a college will do that to you.  I do, however, have terrible grammar but at least I admit it.

I like to just have fun, I play a lot of different games and my gaming experience is fairly vast on all systems and I currently own all 3 of the leading consoles today.  MMOs have a special place in my heart for being my favorite type of game and I have always spent most of my time playing various kinds for the past 8 years.

About YaHiKoDrG:
I think the best place to start is my display name. It is technically two words the first one is Yahiko(Yah-he-co)  which was my characters name in Final Fantasy XI, and if you played Final Fantasy XI you know DRG stands for Dragoon my favorite job I played as. The username has stuck with me because I still keep in touch with my FFXI friends after all these years! Now on to me, as you can tell just by being on this website I love games and anything to do with games I have a passion for. I am still a college student although I’m still undecided what I want to major in. I have been a gamer since I was five although I did not get really hooked on games until Final Fantasy VIII. (I’ll avoid the VII vs. VIII topic)
My first MMO experience was the original Everquest and that was just me, my brother, and our friend goofing around and not getting past level 20. My first real hardcore MMO gaming came with Final Fantasy XI and I ended up playing for six years. I still remember my 18 hour grind of the story missions to unlock Sky in one day, or once being in Sky camping Despot and stealing claim from those dirty RMT(Real Money Traders AKA Gold Sellers for you non-FFXI players). After playing FFXI for so long and seeing a few of my friends quit the game I moved to playing World of Warcraft. In WoW I joined near the end of vanilla and casually raided in The Burning Crusade, when Wrath of the Lich King came out it wasn’t until Icecrown Citadel did I decide I wanted to join a hardcore raiding guild. I was our main tank, and things were fine until we hit our high moment in Firelands which got us to top 100 in the US and top 500 in the world. After that the game and guild lost interest to me and blizzards design choices were the final nail in my WoW coffin. Now I stick to console games until Guild Wars 2 comes out or computer games without a monthly subscription fee.

In short I’m just your average gamer who loves game. I have high end game raiding experience in FFXI and WoW. I’m a guy who loves to fool around in a game but once there is a goal in mind I get serious. I’m very opinionated about games and love to hear everyone’s opinions as long as they aren’t just spouting nonsense.

  1. Hello!

I’m Ethereal, the lead recruiter and an admin from project Foundation. You’ve probably heard of a website known as GuildWars2Guru – essentially a big group of us have decided to create a website that will feature various fanfiction and fanart from authors and artists of the Guild Wars community. At this point in time we have a lot of writers and artists recruited as well as a solid staff. However, at present we are trying to look for other GW fansites to partner up with. Our attempt is to provide more exposure to artists and authors whose work sometimes does not get the recognition it deserves. We think the same philosophy should be shared among the partnered websites so that we can all make a mutual effort to unite the creative community. And I believe what makes us different from other websites is that our goal is not to restrict the creative works of our members to fit our domain but rather to encourage our members to help the overall GW fanfiction and fanart community thrive. And I think that goal can only be accomplished with a collaborative mindset and combined effort with partnered websites. And the high quality of works featured on this website and others is simply a testament to the ambition and hard work of the community. And we would really like to help cultivate this creativity by encouraging cross-promotion. So I was wanting to ask if you would be interested in partnering with us (the link to your website will be featured on the side bar under partners). We admire your website and would really like to be in collaboration with you. If you have any questions or concerns, I urge you to contact me at my e-mail – ethereal.midnight@live.com. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing your reply!

  2. Hello,

I have been a bit of a fan of your site for a while now and I was curious if you would want to swap blogroll links or even linking within posts. I think right now is a fantastic opportunity to build traffic for our sites with Guild Wars 2 launching soon. The hype for the game is going to go through the roof as we get closer and I would love to take that opportunity to drive traffic to our sites.

If this is something that interests you please feel free to get back to me whenever you get a chance. Also if you want to include the link for your RSS feed or whatever page you would like me to send them to you can do that as well.

If you are interested in this the link I would like you to use is the following:

Thank you so much for your time!

    Sincerely,

    Adam

  3. Sorry, couldn’t find any contact info.

I’m the owner of GW2Versus.com, a new GW2 forum dedicated to World vs World and with individual server forums. We just launched recently and are looking for more exposure, so I wanted to ask you if you would be willing to write a post advertisement for us. Of course I would be willing to pay you for that. Just let me know what you charge, but about $10 was what I was thinking.

If you’re interested, please let me know.
